Philip Lecane's book tells the stories of many of the people who sailed on the last voyage of the R.M.S. Leinster, including ship's crew, postal workers, civilian and military passengers. The book gives a detailed background on Robert Ramm, commander of the UB-123, as well as information on the submarine's other two officers. It also has information on some of the rescuing ships and the aftermath of the sinking.
