Jonathan Magrath

MAGRATH, Jonathan

Jonathan Magrath was a gas engineer who worked for the Cork Gas Works. He married Kate Colburne on 26th September 1883 and they had no children. He lived at Rockboro House on the Rockboro Road. The Cork Examiner reported that Jonathan was a popular local man and the extensive list of mourners at his funeral and wreaths sent certainly bore this out. His brothers-in law arranged his funeral. His body was taken by train from Dublin to Crosshaven, Co. Cork, where he was buried in Templebreedy graveyard. The executors of his will were William Magrath and Richard Healy. He was survived by his wife Kate.
